Example Problem Solutions from:Engineering Mechancis: Statics and Dynamicsby Anthony Bedford and Wallace Fowler ![]() ![]() |
While covering the basic principles of mechanics in an example-driven format, this innovative book emphasizes critical thinking by presenting the reader with engineering situations. Compelling photorealistic art, and a robust photograph program helps readers to connect visually to the topics discussed. Features strong coverage of FBDs and important ABET topics. For professionals in mechanical, civil, aeronautical, or engineering mechanics fields.
Anthony Bedford
Dr. Bedford retired from the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics
in May 2002. He had served on the faculty since 1968. Dr. Bedford specialized in mechanics.
He had seven years of industrial experience and published more than 60 technical articles
and reports and authored four books.
Wallace Fowler
Dr. Fowler's areas of interest are in dynamics, orbital mechanics, flight mechanics, spacecraft
design and mission planning, and aircraft flight testing. His current activities focus on
spacecraft and mission design research for lunar and interplanetary exploration and settlement.
In 1981-82 he served as Distinguished Visiting Professor in Astronautics and Computer Science
at the Air Force Academy and spent fall 1976 on the staff of the Air Force Test Pilot School.
He has spent 10 summers working with NASA and associated contractors in Houston.
